Dr. Pulver received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 1973. Upon graduation, he interned as a resident at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. From 1974 to 1976 Dr. Pulver received his Clinical Fellow in Endodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Forsyth Dental Center in Boston Massachusetts. Since 1976, Dr. Pulver has been in private practice limited to endodontics.

Dr. Pulver has held many appointments throughout his professional career. In 1976 he was an Associate in Dentistry at the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. Since 1978 to present he has been Head of the Endodontics Section at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, as well as the Head of the Endodontics Section at the Baycrest Centre, Geriatric Care in Toronto. Dr. Pulver has also been an Associate in the Department of Endodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto from 1978 to present. From 1988 to 1993, he was Fourth Year Clinical Co-Ordinator at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto.

Dr. Pulver's professional memberships include the Canadian Dental Association, Canadian Academy of Endodontics, Ontario Dental Association, North Toronto Dental Society, American Association of Endodontists, Alpha Omega Dental Society, O.K.U. Honour Dental Society, and the Ontario Society of Endodontists. Fellowships of Dr. Pulver include those at the Pierre Fuochard Academy, The International College of Dentists, and The Academy Dentistry International.

Dr. Pulver has also held offices as President of Alpha Omega Dental Society Undergraduate Pi Chapter (1972-73), President of the North Toronto Dental Society (1980-81), President of the George Hare Endodontic Study Club (1988-89), President of the Toronto Alumni Chapter of Alpha Omega Dental Society (1989-90), President of the Ontario Society of Endodontists (1989-90), President of the Academy of Dentistry, Toronto, Ontario (1990-91), Governor of Ontario Dental Association (1992-96), President of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics (1993-94), Executive Council of the Ontario Dental Association (1993-96), President of the Ontario Dental Association (1998-99), and Governor of the Canadian Dental Association (1998-Present). Dr. Pulver has attained numerous publications and given professional presentations both locally and internationally.
